Wilma Eckard Lail

HICKORY – Wilma Eckard Lail, 88, passed away on Friday July, 25, 2014 at Catawba Regional Medical Center. Wilma was born on January 7, 1926 in Catawba County to the late James Alonzo Eckard and Estelle Hollar Eckard. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Eckard Cline. Wilma retired as co-owner of Studio Q Furniture, and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Clyde Lincoln Lail, a daughter, Rebecca L. Carter of Hickory, two sons, Gary Neil Lail and wife Susan of Granite Falls, and David Clyde Lail and wife Cathy of Hickory, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren a brother, Ray H. Eckard and wife Sarah of Hickory, a brother-in-law, Bobby Lee Cline of Newton and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Monday July 28, 2014 at Catawba Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 547 6th Street NW, Hickory, N.C. 28601 with the Rev. William B. Miller-Zurell officiating.
