(formerly of Stuart Fl.) on June 9, 2016. Beloved husband of Barbara
Finnan and
the late Anne Longo. Loving companian to Pat Terrell. Devoted father to
Kevin
(deceased), Bob (Carol) and Patricia (Tim). Adored grandfather to
Chelsea,
Kayla, Sean and Sam. James was born in
Brooklyn, Sept. 29, 1930. He graduated from Brooklyn Prep HS and then
went on
to St. Peters University, where he earned his degree in English. While
still in
Brooklyn Jim and his family were parishiners of St. Teresa parish.
A Korean War veteran who
treasured his 30+ years at Domino Sugar as a General Manager of Material
Handling and Customer Service before becoming a snow bird and retiring
to Stuart,
Florida.
Jim was active in the social
scene at Hansons Landing - Miles Grant where here he met life long
friends. Jim
relived his youth by participating in senior softball, golf and tennis.
His caring
nature had him working with Meals on Wheels and unselfishly providing
transportation to those in need.
Jim’s lasting gifts to us all
are the memories of his generous heart and his wonderfully brilliant
sense
humor. No matter what the situation, if Jim was involved, everyone would
be
laughing by the end. Jim used his gift of humor to his advantage,
whether it be
at golf, tennis, softball, to distract you. You would be laughing too
hard to
put up a challege.
Jim was an avid photographer
and film maker who never missed an opportunity to include anyone he
could in
his remakes of famous movie scenes. It was certain that when you ended
you
first encounter with Jim he had already figured what role you would play
in his
next movie. He leaves us all with a heavy heart and many laughs. So now
let the
good times begin in heaven.
