

Joan Parker, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on August 12, 1942, in Queens, New York, Joan was the cherished daughter of the late Viola and Edward Parker.
Joan’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was the devoted mother of Suzanne Reek (Joseph), Lorraine LaRocca, and Richard Selkowitz (Danielle). She was a loving grandmother to Laren (Joe) and Joseph, and the proud great-grandmother of Abigail and Indy. Her family will forever remember her warmth, generosity, and unwavering support.
Talented with her hands and creative at heart, Joan found happiness in crafting and crocheting, often making thoughtful gifts for those she loved. She had a gentle spirit and a genuine desire to help others, touching many lives with her kindness. In quieter moments, Joan enjoyed settling in to watch her favorite show, Law & Order, which brought her both comfort and entertainment over the years.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home from 2:00–4:30 PM and 7:00–9:00 PM.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Huntington Station, NY. Interment will follow at Church of St. Patrick Cemetery in Huntington, NY.
Joan will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
