Kathryn Koenig

Kathryn Koenig (née Peabody), formerly of Hicksville, New York, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026 at her residence in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania at the age of 90. She was born on March 20, 1935, in Queens, New York.

Kathryn was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Robert J. Koenig. Together they built a loving home centered on family.

She was a loving and devoted mother to Carol Gaines (Tim), Robert Koenig (Young-Hye), and Ronald Koenig (Gerard Haffner), and an adoring grandmother to Jennifer (Bradley), Timothy (Carla), Crystal (Noah), Nichole, and Hai-Yan. Her family was the heart of her life, and she took great joy in caring for and supporting them.

Kathryn was a dedicated homemaker who expressed her love often through her cooking. She found happiness in preparing meals, gathering loved ones around the table, and creating lasting memories through simple, meaningful moments. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, 125 W. Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11802, on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 7:00–9:00 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Hicksville, NY.

Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, New York.

Kathryn’s legacy of love, family, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she cherished.
