Richard A. Larghi, 94, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025. A longtime resident of Hicksville and Jericho, NY, Richard lived a life filled with love, service, and devotion to both his family and community.
He was the cherished husband of Lois (nee Mohr), with whom he shared 70 years of unwavering love and companionship. Together, they built a life full of shared experiences and a deep commitment to each other. Richard was also a proud and loving father to his daughter, Janet, whose heart he touched with his constant support and affection.
Richard’s legacy is marked not only by his dedication to his family but also by his patriotism and service to his country. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, a testament to his bravery and commitment. His professional journey was equally impressive, spanning from the asphalt business on Long Island to a distinguished career as an engineer at Lincoln Center.
Alongside his beloved Lois, Richard was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for their lifelong commitment to service and philanthropy, always giving back to the country they held so dear. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he devoted much of his time to serving his church and community. From his early days as an altar boy to his later years as a dedicated usher and youth counselor, Richard found immense joy in supporting the spiritual growth of others.
Richard's kindness, generosity, and steadfast faith touched the lives of so many. His presence was a beacon of love, warmth, and integrity, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
