Betty Lou Craven

Following High School, Betty attended Mars Hill College. Betty married Harry Craven on May 30, 1953. She was a devoted member of Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she loved singing in the choir. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family.

Betty is survived by sons, Jay Craven, Joe Craven (Sheila,) and Jeff Craven (Angie;) grandchildren, Austin Craven and Sarah Shuman (David;) great-grandchildren, McKayla Craven, Mason Craven, and Makenna Shuman; and caregiver, Karen Bentley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and brother Joseph Dean and his wife Patricia.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 2817 Abbotts Creek Church Rd, High Point, NC 27265. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
