High Point- Carmen Lamoglia Cline, age 97, died on Friday, March 23, 2018. Carmen was born January 28, 1921, in Los Banos, CA, to parents Antonio and Rosina Lamoglia. She attended Los Banos schools and graduated in 1939.
From 1940 to 1945 she owned and operated “Carmie’s Fountain” in Los Banos. She married Melvin Cline on June 1, 1944, sold the fountain, and moved to Grand Prairie, TX. Mr. Cline worked form Chance Vaught Aircraft.
Carmen attended nursing school in Dallas, TX, and was a pediatric nurse for ten years. In 1962 Carmen and Melvin moved to Willow Grove, PA, where she worked at Abington Hospital for ten years. Melvin changed jobs and went to work for a vending company.
In 1972, they moved to High Point, NC. Carmen retired and volunteered for the Red Cross Bloodmobile and received the Distinguished Service Award for the year 1984. In 1990, using a grant from the company where Mr. Cline was employed, Carmen opened an office at Elm Towers, a high-rise for the elderly. After Mr. Cline passed away in 1990, Carmen committed her services in his memory as a volunteer at Elm Towers for thirty years.
Carmen is survived by two sons, Dennis Cline and Bob Cline; six grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at 11AM on March 28, 2018, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, Carmen wishes memorials to be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4145 Johnson St, High Point, NC 27265.
