Dorothy K. Gobble

Dorothy Knowles Gobble 77 passed away on Tuesday July 8, 2014 at the Hospice Home in High Point. She was born in Wake County to the late James Odell and Mae Lee Cash Knowles. Dorothy was educated threw the Apex District Schools. She worked her entire life in the insurance business, work at the following, Nation Wide Ins. Co., NC Rating Bureau, Farm Bureau Ins. She owned and operated Clayton Ins. Agency, Sentry Insurance Company. Upon moving to Charlotte she was an instructor for the Insurance System of NC.

Dorothy was a member of Emerywood Baptist Church, Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church, being a Sunday School teacher, Youth Choir Director, Choir Member, Trinity F W B Church and was a Sunday School teacher, Youth Choir Director and member of the choir. She was active in the Johnston County Association for Mentally Handicapped, the Johnston County Group Homes and the Clayton Chamber of Commerce.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, a son Larry Perry and a daughter Cindy Perry.

She is survived by her husband Marvin of the home, a daughter Sarita Yandle and husband Jay, granddaughter Nicole Perry, sister Delores Strother and husband Aubrey.

The family would like to thank Lexington Health Care, High Point Regional Hospital, Hospice of High Point, and Visiting Angels. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice Home in High Point or The Shriners Children Hospital, Greenville SC.

Funeral Service will be Friday, July 11, 2014, 12:00pm at Sechrest Funeral Chapel in High Point. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 10am- 12pm. Internment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury, NC.
