Harold Ashley Teeter, age 94, of High Point, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024. He was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on March 24, 1930 to George Samuel Teeter and Margaret Chandler Teeter.
For 23 years Harold served active duty in the U.S. Army and always told everyone that it was a privilege to serve our great country. Having completed tours of duty in the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts, he retired while serving as Command Sergeant Major at the Pentagon. He was also a recipient of the Bronze Star.
In September of 2023, Harold was privileged to be a part of the Triad Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
Harold was a member of Westchester Baptist Church in High Point, N.C. where he enjoyed teaching the Co-ed Adult IV Sunday School Class. Every morning he spent at least an hour in prayer for others. Every day he studied God's Word to improve his relationship with God.
He is survived by his wife Glenda Spivey Teeter; son, Brian Teeter and wife Mary Ella; granddaughter, Christina Teeter Doligalski and husband Mike; great grandsons William and Benjamin Doligalski; step children, Neal Spivey and wife Rosemary, Janet Spivey Campbell and husband Douglas, Kay Spivey Underwood and husband Wallace; step grandchildren Leah Underwood Jordan and husband Daryl, Brett Underwood and wife Jodye; Meredith Spivey Lipnick and husband Scott, Rachel Spivey Valentine and husband Scott, Laura Spivey, Alex Campbell; seven step great grandchildren, Eli and Molly Jordan, Kellen and Tori Underwood, Georgia and Wesley Lipnick and Billie Valentine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Chandler Teeter and George Samuel Teeter and two half-sisters; his wife of 52 years, Jean York Teeter.
A memorial service will be held at Westchester Baptist Church, 135 Westchester Dr, High Point, NC 27262 on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11am. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 pm at McConnell Road Baptist Church, 3911 McConnell Rd, Greensboro, NC 27406.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
