

Harry Edward Price Jr., age 87, of High Point, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012. Harry was born on February 21, 1925 to Harry and Catherine G. Price in Great Neck, Long Island, NY. Harry was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in High Point, NC. He was a decorated, Bronze Star veteran of WWII where he saw action in France and Germany. He served in the 36th Texas Infantry Division which had the highest casualty rate of all infantry divisions in the European theatre . Following the war he graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in textile manufacturing. While living in Garden City, New York he was an executive for Burlington Industries in New York for 13 years, and then moved to High Point where he was a long time resident. A long time member of the High Point Country Club, the NC Fabric Mens Club, and the High Point Furniture Club. He also owned a house in Sea Pines on Hilton Head Island, SC where he resided part time. He retired in 1995 at the age of 70 as an independent upholstery fabric sales representative. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved nature, animals, saltwater, and had a gift for storytelling.
Besides his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Percival Price and a sister, Jane Price Scheid. Survivors include his son, Harry E. Price III and his wife Sylvie of Erie, CO; daughter, Catherine Price Furnary and her husband Steve of Rye, NY; Peter J. Price and wife Marion of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Ryan and Chad Mills of Alaska, Tim Furnary and wife Lindsey of Rye, NY; Alex and Scott Furnary of NY, Cathy Vaughn and husband Daniel of Greensboro, NC Stephanie Price of Tampa, FL and Peter Price of Greensboro, NC; great grandchildren, Daniel Price Vaughn and Molly Catherine Vaughn of Greensboro, NC and nieces, Betty and Janet Scheid.
The Price family would like to thank Brighton Gardens of Greensboro, The Stratford of High Point, Wesley Long Hospital of Greensboro, and Camdon Place of Greensboro for their love and care.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 pm in the chapel at Sechrest Funeral Service in High Point, a burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Guilford County Animal Shelter.
