
She was born on March 3, 1923 to Dewey Vivian and Wilner French Linthicum in High Point, North Carolina.
Helen graduated from High Point High School and Jones Business College. She was bookkeeper for the family business, Underwood Alignment in High Point before retiring to Florida.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Myers. Helen volunteered throughout her life at church and in the community. Her hobbies included needlework, dancing, bowling, skating, golf, and bingo.
Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her brother, Forrest Linthicum.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Lloyd Underwood, Sr.; her daughter Connie Thompson and husband Ronald and son Lloyd “Butch” Underwood, Jr. and wife Sherry; grandchildren Allison Davis and husband Derik, Caroline D’Aurelio and husband Michael, Kasha Ledford, Lloyd “Skip” Underwood, III and wife Alicia; and 5 great grandchildren, Jacob Davis, Alexandra Ledford, Allie Underwood, Cadence D’Aurelio, and Bree D’Aurelio.
Services will be held Friday, June 13 at 2:00 PM at Sechrest Funeral Home in High Point, NC with the family receiving friends at 12:30 prior to the service.
