

Chris was born April 17, 1983 in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was home schooled through elementary years, attended North Myrtle Beach High School, and was graduated from Brittain Academy May 2001. He received a BA from Bethal Bible College in Greensboro in September 2008.
Christopher began drawing at age 5 and at age 9 began summer classes at Coastal Carolina College, Young People’s College. As a prolific artist, he painted murals in local roller rinks and in children’s nurseries. Christopher sold his paintings at GTCC’s annual Diversity Day. At age 12 he drew portraits of residents at High Point Manor that they displayed proudly in their rooms.
Christopher was also a talented pianist, played guitar in a local band and began a pet rescue/rehome program. As a certified scuba diver, Christopher saved the life of a fellow diver for which he received a letter from Governor Jim Hodges of South Carolina.
Employed by Brittain Academy as a web designer, Christopher’s love of children was a joy to behold. He taught art classes, built tree houses and designed tire swings.
He is survived by mother, Linde T. Brittain of Thomasville, brother, James M. Brittain of High Point, father, John P. Brittain of North Myrtle Beach, SC. Also surviving are: four aunts, Sandi Parcell, Phyllis Mills, Toni Pegram, Jerri Freeman (and their spouses). Six cousins: Nichole Brooks, Christy Truitt, Tiffany Elms, Lindsay Carter and their children.
Services will be held at Sechrest Funeral Service on Sunday at 2pm in High Point on Lexington Avenue.
