Jayn was born in her parents’ home on September 18, 1932 in Trinity, NC to the late Elizabeth Meredith Collett and John Craven Collett, and lived in the High Point-Trinity area for most of her life. Jayn was a graduate of High Point High School, attended High Point College and graduated Temple University’s School of Dental Hygiene in Philadelphia.
Jayn was independent and hardworking as a dental hygienist for nearly 20 years. Jayn found her professional passion with a second career as a real estate sales agent. Jayn was a member of the Archdale/Trinity Women’s Club and was an active member of High Point Friends Meeting. She volunteered by cooking meals and delivered them to members in need through the church’s Homebound Ministry. During her years at High Point Friends she regularly attended the Rufus Jones Sunday School Class and later the Alice Page White Sunday School Class which she dearly loved.
Jayn’s greatest passion was for her family and she is survived by her two children Bryan Brown and Wendy Realmuto, their spouses, Diane Hawkins Brown and Richard Realmuto and two grandchildren, Chapp Brown and Christian Realmuto. Jayn was predeceased by her husband Chapp Marshall Brown, her brother J.C. Collett, Jr. and her sister Maxine Collett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to High Point Friends Meeting or the High Point Friends School. The Funeral Service will be held at the Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM by Pastor Terry Venable followed by a reception and Burial at 1:00 PM in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
