Joe Daniel Ellington Jr 88 passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Hospice Home in High Point. He was born in High Point to the late Joe D. Ellington Sr. and Minnie Floyd McBryde Ellington. He was the youngest of ten children and served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.
He was a member of Covenant Church United Methodist in High Point, the Whitlock Fellowship Sunday School Class, the Piedmont Lodge #681 AF and AM, the Woodmen of the World, and the American Legion in Greensboro post 368.
Joe was employed by Medstate Box Company in the Shipping Department and was married to Alene Chatham on December 25, 1950.
He is survived by his wife Alene Chatham Ellington and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday, December 6, 2014, 2:00pm at Covenant United Methodist Church in High Point. Visitation will be from 1-2pm at the church. Burial will follow at Floral Gardens Memorial Park in High Point.
