Joy Treva Patterson-101-passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Hospice Home at High Point. Joy was born on June 11, 1911 to the late Daniel Webster and Nellie Olean McCrickard Patterson. She worked in manufacturing at Adams Millis Corp. for a number of years until she retired to be a full time caregiver to her mother. Joy was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.
Joy is preceded in death by her brother Rev. Webster Patterson, and her sisters, Chappie Monroe, Ivie Hendrix, Olean Patterson, Edna Patterson, and Dollie Vaughn.
She is survived by her nieces, Jane Rochelle of High Point, Nancy Friedmann of Albuquerque, N.M., Barbara Vaughn of Canton, Betty Jo Mills and husband Rev. Rick W. of Black Mt., Grand niece Janice Friedmann of High Point, Nephews, Donald R. Monroe of High Point, Charles S. Vaughn and wife Frances of Mt. Airy, Jerry A. Vaughn and wife Phyllis of Aberdeen, grand nephews Gregory S. Monroe of Wilmington, and Michael P. Monroe of High Point.
There will be a private family graveside service in Eden on Friday, July 20, 2012.
