Petey, I know we hadn't seen each other for years but, as cousins we were very close as children. I've thought of you and the rest of your family numerous times over the years and regret that I never got in touch with y'all. I remember our moms laughing out about our antics when we were little.  Climbing that really tall rock wall outside the apartment building (not really that tall now). Getting busted for making hamburgers in the middle of the night. We were only 3 or 4 and couldn't even reach the top of the stove. Don't know how we did that without burning down the kitchen. I knew that you had gone into law enforcement like Uncle Larry and it certainly appears that you had a banging career. I will not forget all the memories I have of all of us as families spending time together nor the love I still have for all of you. RIP, Petey. I will always hold you in my heart.

Larry,  Thank you for taking me under your wing starting when I was a police cadet and through the years at McLean. I am grateful for having had you as a mentor, role model, and friend. For several year, Larry was the officer on duty in front our our children's elementary school. We have had many officers over the years, but Larry was special. He was so exuberant, and seemed happy to be there. Regardless of the weather, or what might have been going on in his world, he remembered the kids names, and started their day with a big, kind smile. We are so incredibly sorry for your loss. Larry always had a smile and a funny quote, even when he was mad. He never told me "no" when I asked for his help, instead, he found a way to make the crazy thing I was asking him to help with happen. He was instrumental in making sure my work during Police Week, escorting survivors, children, spouses and colleagues of the fallen, went off without a hitch. Sorry to hear of his passing. We'll see you again my Brother.

RIP Lil Larry my adopted son.  I loved working with you.  You were always special to me because of your Dad.  We hit it off the first time we met.  I grew to love you very quickly.  You were definitely a cop's cop.  You will always be in my heart until we meet again.

Larry, I am so glad that you came to McLean ,and we were able to work together for so long. It was great to work with another guy from the "old school!" From our "Fu Manchu moustache contest," where we grew them longer to see which one would get yelled at first, to taking care of my cruiser in record time, to coming code to transport unruly people that I arrested, you were THE BEST!! I'm so sorry that you left us at such a young age. You were absolutely the man, and there will never be another one like you!

I was getting it the worst I'd ever gotten it and I called for help. The rest of your shift had left for the day but you heard my call. You grabbed the wagon, probably the closest vehicle, and you came.  

You were the first one I saw that came to my call. When I saw you, I knew we were safe.

Larry, you and Andy have been a big part of my life for many years, you would give Andy money and send us off shopping, once we got back you wanted to see everything we bought. We had so much fun, I will truly miss you and your laughter. Thank you for giving my best friend the happiest years of her life. Love and miss you Larry.

Meeting Larry & Andy was one of the best things that ever happened to my husband and me. Larry was a wonderful friend who will be sorely missed.

Larry, thanks for being a good Dad and Papa to my nieces and nephews. You will be sorely missed. I'm so sorry for your loss, Mr and Mrs Jones, Andy, Darryl, Amber, Larry and Angie and your children as well. My heart is broken for you. Thinking of and praying for you all in the difficult time. I will never be able to listen to Elton John without hearing Larry singing the songs.

Dear Mary and Larry and family, we are so sorry to hear of Larry juniors sickness and passing. We will pray for all of you and for Larry junior. Johna and Dave McNichol.

Larry...a great guy who always looked out for his people A man who said what he was going to do, and carried through with it. In a time where promises are made and broken in the same breath, you know when you talked to Larry about something, regardless of what it was, something was going to be done. It may not be what you wanted, but it was going to be what was right. Abrupt, abrasive, compassionate, and kind, sometimes all at once; you always knew where you stood with him. There are so few people with the temperament and mettle that Larry had, and the people in his world have been left hollow by his passing. Hopefully, wherever he is now he is smiling down, no longer has pain, and there are an endless supply of Solo cups.

I am so heartbroken! Larry would do anything for anyone! If I ever needed a hand....the response was always sure darlin'!  That big ole mustache to match his big heart of gold! So sad!!

Thank you for the things that you taught me as a young child. The love and laughter we shared has always meant the world to me !

To the Jones extended family, our hearts are broken as we mourn Larry's loss. Larry extended his hand to me in a way that I will always cherish. He was truly dedicated in his pursuit of law enforcement to protect the people of Fairfax County, but even more, he gave his heart and his spirit to his friends and fellow officers...really anyone whom he befriended. Larry's light will continue to shine in our hearts and I will carry his memory with me. May his memory be a lasting blessing to us all.

I have always liked Larry. He was a decent and respectable individual who always had a kind and supportive word. I know you will miss him and my prayers will be with you. Let not your hearts be troubled....(John 14:1).

I am very sorry to hear about Larry. I had the pleasure of working with him at the McLean District Station. Larry was the type of person who you could count on if you ever needed help. He was that type of person, always giving without hesitation. He will be missed.

There's nothing better than going to work and having fun while you're there. Larry and I were two south end units that were sentenced to McLean, and posted on Lee Hwy. On a bad night we had fun, on a good night we had a blast. He was a legend to work with an even better friend to have. Rest In Peace Brother.

Such a great cop's cop. More importantly, he was a character's character. I imagine the folks on his squad were happy to see him strut into roll call. I bet it was a very different place when he was not there. Those are the kinds of people I like having in my life. Well done Larry. You made the world a better place while you were in it.
