This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it. Our prayer is for families to be consoled and our dear brother's rest to continues in peace till we all see Jesus Christ. Amen.

Uncle Leonard, a wonderful uncle, one who never really grew old and had a smile that was made of sunshine. You will forever be remembered for your heart of gold, words of wisdom, and your debonair & suave good looks.  

While we are saddened, you were taken too soon from us; we take solace in knowing you are no longer in pain or suffering.

Leonard... and to say that I have a big part in you being introduced to my Mother will always hold a special place in my heart. I was there when you two were united as one and I felt honored that I was able to witness it. You brought so much joy into Mom‘s life and I know that she is going to miss you tremendously.   I will miss your smile and your contagious laughter.  I hate that you left us here on earth so soon, but I’m glad to know that you are not suffering anymore and are in no more pain. Please watch over my Mother- heck watch over all of us. Tomorrow we get to celebrate your life- I hope you will listen to all of the great memories everyone will share about you. The day of  the memorial service will be so bitter sweet.  When we last saw you and sis, We didn't want to think about it being the last time.  It hurt to see you in pain, you are better now in  heaven pain free. We are going  to miss our trips to Ocean City, Las Vegas, and the  favorite place New  Orleans. I am Leonard’s brother ,Charles . We grew up around a lot of love and care . I am still trying to make this a reality that Leonard is gone . I am going to miss our conversation together.
My prayers are with his wife and family. 
Although he has moved to HEAVENS address. He will be missed on this side . REST EASY BROTHER  WE WILL MEET AGAIN .❤️

Talking with my cool and handsome nephew was always a treat for me. Our family chain has been broken again and right now nothing seems the same.....but as we leave this world one by one our family chain will link again.                
   Stephanie thank you so much for everything you have done for my nephew. I really appreciate you. I hope it helps to know that others are thinking of you and praying for you.  The power of prayer helps our soul heal from the pain. Let the Lord wrap his arms around you and take care of you while you grieve. I thank God for the times you Leonard and I shared ....and the memories we made in person and on the phone. I like to think of Leonard as still living in the hearts of those he loved and touched. God’s Garden

God looked around his garden and found an empty place
He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
With the help of his angels they flew you to your heavenly place
Gods garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best
He knew you were suffering, he knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never get well on Earth again
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills too hard to climb
He closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be Thine”
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

Leonard we have had some times over the years. I was able to share my 50th birthday with you and you shared your 60th with me. You will never know how much our dance meant in that moment but I will never forget that special time we got to share. I am sad to know that you are gone, but I am thankful to have another Angel looking after me. If I know nothing I know that you were my Sisters Soul Mate and I thank you for the love and joy you brought into her life. Rest in Heaven Brother in Law.

When our journey began, I was your friend, then your confidant, then your wife, then your caregiver, now your widow.

We have grown so much in our relationship with each other and our faith in God.  

There was not a day that went by that we did not say “I appreciate you, I love you”

Our travels throughout the US, the Caribbean, Mexico and Puerto Rico, had us seeing places for the first time together.  We have shared many firsts. Your infectious smile always made my body warm.

I will not love another man the way I love you.  I thank you for sharing your name with me, and I am thrilled you chose to "box - as opposed to throwing rocks”.  

 As you begin your new journey without me, there are no better arms to embrace you than the arms of God.  Rest in Paradise, Puff.  Love you always, Step.


Although Leonard and i never met in person and only talked via telephone, I feel like I knew him  all my life. I guess that goes to show the kind of good man he was. I prayed for you to beat this and spend another 20 years with the love of your life Stephanie, but GOD had other plans. He fought the fight but no more pain and suffering. My sincerest condolences to my best friend for life Stephanie Morris Washington, love you beyond the sky.

My fondest memories of Leonard are the Sundays he would come to church. He always greeted me with a smile and handshake but what I remember most are the boots he wore. He looked sharp in his boots. I am going to miss him but I thank God for the pleasure  of meeting Leonard. 

Wow gone too soon Lynyrd Skynyrd !! That's what I call Leonard Washington  he called me PRINCE , short for James Prince he is what you call a Real BROTHER 💯💪 u will be missed my big brother!!! 

Hey Nephew, sorry i could not be there for you. Nothing can take away all the memories and laughs throughout the years. You and Larry were more like brothers than nephews. We lost one of our best in you. our lost is heavens gain. watch over  Larry and Cory . They  are waiting with open arms. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. It is with great sadness that we pen this loving note. Thank you God for all the time you allowed. Thank you for moments shared with family and friends. Nothing is lost, if we know where it is. The believer knows where they are going and shall be together again,  in Jesus name. Amen.
