Lillie Mae Moore Eldridge, age 101, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
Lillie Mae was born in Guilford County, April 8, 1923, the daughter of the late Robert Oscar Moore and Lillie Florence Benton Moore. She was a graduate of High Point College with a degree in business and participated in numerous intramural sports. Lillie Mae worked at High Point Memorial Hospital and the High Point Medical Center as an x-ray technician prior to being a medical assistant for Dr. Hampton Chiles. She was a member of High Point Friends Meeting and later First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir until age 90. Lillie Mae was active in the Parson's Table and the Hays Bible Class. She enjoyed working in her yard and sharing her flowers. Lillie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Willard Eldridge and daughter-in-law Janita Hayworth Eldridge.
Surviving are a daughter, Rachel Dedmon (Phillip); two sons, Jim Eldridge and Rick Eldridge (Susan); two grandsons, Stephen Eldridge (Brittany) and Thomas Eldridge (Mallory) and three great-grandsons.
A Celebration of Lillie Mae's life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2024 at First United Methodist Church by Pastors Joshua Barnes and Debra Swing with visitation to follow in the Epworth Room.
