Margaret Rae Ayer Redpath, 97, passed away on November 2, 2020.
Margaret was born in Bamberg, SC, the oldest child of Lonnie Allan and Corine Henderson Ayer. She graduated from Bamberg High School and Columbia Business College. In 1944, she married Andrew Vernon Redpath. Following his death in 1986, she moved from Lee's Summit, MO to High Point to be near her son and his family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Muriel Ayer Price, and brothers, Glenn, Avery, Frank, Billy and Ted Ayer. Margaret was a member of First Presbyterian Church in High Point.
Surviving are two sons, Randolph Allan Redpath (Page) of High Pont and Andrew Dwight Redpath (Brenda) of Baton Rouge, LA; six grandchildren, Margaret Ryland Redpath, Elizabeth Page Redpath (Jennifer), Rachel Alison Redpath, Sarah Elizabeth Redpath, Hannah Redpath Poges (Brad) and Zachary Alexander Redpath; two great-grandchildren, Crosby Crawford Redpath and Lincoln Page Redpath; a brother, Bobby Ayer of Swansea, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service celebrating her life will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel in Columbia, SC. Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, 918 N. Main St., High Point, NC 27262 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P. O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
