Mary Beatrice Meredith, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 16, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on May 24, 1933, in High Point, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Nona Ailen Spencer and Hubert Edwin Danford.
Bea, as she was affectionately known, was a compassionate and loving person who dedicated much of her professional life to administrative roles and personnel management, ultimately retiring from Valspar. Her hard-working nature and leadership skills were recognized during her two terms as president of the ABWA, High Point Chapter.
In 1966, Bea married Darrell Ernest Meredith, who preceded her in death in 2015. Together, they shared a life filled with love and family, having two sons, David Meredith (Sandra) and Jonathan, who passed in 1970. Bea's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Emily Meredith Haught (Ken), Erin Meredith, Brittany Hall (Shannon), Sean McInnis (Maia), and her great-grandchildren, Alyssa Tager, Marian Haught, Ruby McInnis, and Rhys Sablan. She also cherished her stepchildren, Mickey Meredith (Bonnie) and Janis Surratt (Randy), step-grandchildren, Brandon Meredith (Debi), Paige Everhart (Daniel), Claire Francis (Merrick), and step-great-grandchildren, Cooper Meredith, Jax Everhart, and Jane Francis. Her sister, Rose Ellen Sisk (Arfew) both deceased, along with her surviving very special nieces and nephews, Jimmy Sisk (Leslie), Cathy Collins, and Eddie Sisk (Kim), who she loved as if they were her own children.
Bea was a generous and gentle soul, known for her musical talents, playing both the piano and organ for several area churches over many years. Her faithfulness and loyalty were evident in her membership at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and active in the Methodist Women, serving the church family she truly loved.
A celebration of Bea's life will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, with Pastor John Stein officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the KCLC fellowship hall until 5:30 p.m.
The family extends a very special thanks to the caregivers who provided compassionate care during her final years, Amy Kennedy, Virginia Martin, and her granddaughters. Special gratitude is also expressed to Dr. Stephen Ruehle, Cathy, Kim, Dr. Clark, Dr. Wahid, and Dr. Yun for their medical care, and to Hospice of Davidson County and the nurses, Sara, Melissa, Pam, and Sandy.
