Ralph was born in McDowell County, WV, a son of the late Vander and Jessie Blevins McCray. He was a proud Army veteran of W.W.II and retired from Tomlinson’s Furniture Co. after over 30 years of service. Ralph was preceded in death by a daughter, Marianna Kapish; a sister, Ramona Briley and two brothers, Vander McCray, Jr. and Eugene McCray. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Ralph loved gardening and working around the house.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Mary Pinter McCray; three daughters, Margaret Christian and her husband David, Elizabeth Meindl and her husband Bobby and Joan Martin; three sons, Ralph McCray, Jr., Joseph McCray and Thomas McCray; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church by Rev. Thomas P. Norris, O.S.F.S. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 until 11 a.m. Inurnment will be at a later date at Salisbury National Cemetery. Sechrest Funeral Home is serving the McCray family.
