Robi was born on February 13, 1955 to the late Bernard and Beatrice Morris Gates in Brooklyn, New York.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Dean Oman; son, J Bryan Oman, daughter-in-law, Julie Oman; daughter, Denelle Dawn Hall, son-in-law, Chris Hall; daughter Kim Harms, son-in-law, Chris Harms; grandchildren, Madison Hall, James Mason Hall, and Jacob Harms; and brother, Ronald Gates.
She resided in New York until her teenage years when she relocated to Arizona, where she would later meet her husband and start her family. The family relocated to High Point in 2000.
Robi loved to spend time exploring the Arizona desert and mountains, and volunteering at the local elementary school. She enjoyed crafting and especially basket weaving, as demonstrated by the beautiful baskets that decorated her home. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed interior decorating, and at one time owned her own business designing and maintaining interior plantscapes. Whether it was the beach or on the lake, in a canoe or a pontoon boat, Robi loved to be outdoors. Most of all, Robi loved to spend time with her husband Doug, her children and her grandchildren.
