Mrs. Martin was born to the late Walter Franklin and Sally Bettie Smith Draughn. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ben Hamlin Martin; sisters, Gertrude Hodges and Irene Simpson; brothers, Frank Draughn and Archie Draughn; niece Jo Ann Hodge; and nephews, LC Hodges and Ronnie Simpson.
Surviving are her nieces, Bonnie Hardy of Siloam, Betty Sue Allred of Winston Salem, Donna Biggerstaff of Hickory, and Marsha Ellis of Gibsonville; nephews, James F. Draughn, Jeff Draughn, and Conrad Draughn of Mount Airy, and Gray Draughn of Ararat, and several great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Martin was a member of First Presbyterian Church of High Point. She had a love for real estate and devoted several years working with Smithdeal Realtors. She served her community through various activities which included Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, Red Cross, and others. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church of High Point, 918 N. Main St, High Point at 1pm on Monday, November 26, 2018 with a funeral immediately following at 2pm. An entombment will occur at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery, 1730 W. English Rd, High Point at 3pm.
