Anne Marie Birch, 65, of Margate, FL passed away on May 24, 2016. Born in Detroit, MI on September 12, 1950 to Basil and Ruth Birch, she remained in the Detroit area until relocating to South Florida in her early 30's. Anne worked for Broward County in the Water and Waste Water division for over 30 years, eventually earning the title of Chief Plant Operator.
Anne was a very quiet, even-keeled woman and ever the voice of reason. She believed in giving second chances and always stuck up for the underdog. In her own way, Anne was quick with a one-liner that brought great laughter. With her free time, she worked out her brain doing crossword puzzles or reading books. One of her largest passions was sports and while her heart was with her Michigan teams, she would root for the Florida teams when Michigan wasn't playing. She was always at peace when vacationing in her home state and Disney World; it brought her great joy to share these trips with her wife of 24 years, Carlene.
Anne's beautiful, sweet spirit will forever be cherished by her wife, Carlene; her siblings, Rosemary (the late Jim) Mitchell, Donald (Mary Ellen) Birch and the late Elinor (Bill) Buhro; 26 nieces and nephews and an abundance of great and great great nieces and nephews.
Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 1:00pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00pm at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland. Share a memory at www.eltonblackandsonhighland.com
