

Born on December 5, 1929, Dorothy was the beloved daughter of Virgil and Catherine (née McVay) Isham. She lived a life marked by kindness, faith, and devotion to her family and community.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Sherk, as well as her parents.
She is survived by her cherished children, Keith Sherk, Kathleen (the late Rodney) Vitovich, and Karen (Gary) Shelton. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Dawn (Brian) Switzer, Kendall, and Ashley, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
Dorothy was known for her warm and gentle spirit. She was friendly to everyone she met and never spoke badly of anyone. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she was a devoted Methodist who was deeply involved with Thrive Church. She also dedicated her talents as a certified brailer, helping others through her careful and compassionate work.
Dorothy enjoyed dancing alongside her husband Kenneth, creating treasured memories together. Above all else, she was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love for her family was unwavering. She shared an especially close bond with her mother and lovingly cared for her later in life.
A memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Thrive Church on 680 W Livingston Rd, Highland, MI 48357. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an organization of one’s choice in Dorothy’s memory.
