James "Don" Montgomery of Howell, formerly of West Bloomfield, passed away August 22, 2022 at 93 years of age.
Beloved husband of Celeste for 66 years. Loving father of David Joseph, Colleen Ann, Paul Michael (Nanette), John Patrick (Cathy) and the late Amy Jane Montgomery. Proud grandfather of Jimmy Jaikins, Jaquelyn (John) Pavelko, Todd (Lauren) Jaikins, Samantha Jaikins, Alisha (Justin Puik) Montgomery, Stephanie (Dan) Nick, Rachel (fiance Scott Reitman) Montgomery, Thomas Montgomery and Adam Montgomery. Treasured great-grandfather of William, Juliana, Jocelyn, Victor, Clark, Cole, Kade, Hattie and Amy.
Don was the owner and operator of Cadillac Brick Co. in Sylvan Lake. He was an avid Lions fan and enjoyed the Detroit Tigers. He would always have a good time on his business golf outings where he made many happy memories. Among his many interests, he enjoyed landscaping and flowers. He will be very much missed by all.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 26, 2022 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 2201 S. Old 23 Highway in Brighton. The family will receive friends at church from 10:00am until the time of mass at 11:00am. Interment along with military honors will take place at All Saints Cemetery in Waterford following the mass.
Memorial contributions suggested to the American Liver Foundation or a memorial mass in memory of Don.
