I was in shock reading about your passing. You were someone that was always there to lend an ear and share a laugh. You taught me how to bet on horses and we learned together that ones with jewellery in their names were unlucky. I wish I could have been able to attend your service and say goodbye, but the border isn't open. Wishing your mom the very best. You talked so highly of her, and last time I saw you, you were over the moon planning her birthday surprise.
Thanks Grego for everything you added to my life. Your Crazy Canadian.

John was a beloved nephew who cared so much to bring "family" together. He hosted many parties and tried keeping the Christmas tradition alive as it was begun many years ago by Grandma and Grandpa.
John was happiest when people gathered and he so generously shared and provided what he had.
His care for his mother was exceptional and appreciated by her and other family members.
John was definitely a "cut above" and will be so missed.

Good people are taken from us before they should be sometimes.
John was definitely one of those people.
He was kind hearted and would have given anyone the shirt off his back.
When we were growing up i remember playing sonic the hedgehog with John and Jeff .
Always beat me by the way and than would play pile up where we always ended up on the bottom.
We always had fun and enjoyed each other's company.
He will be dearly missed but always loved and never forgotten.

John was ALWAYS a guy that could figure out how to get me to laugh no matter how I was feeling. After my first back fusion in 2017, he was calling almost day see if I needed anything and then after my accident that left my permanently disabled last January. I was told he came up to the hospital and brought me some beef jerky but I don't remember it. What I do remember is him calling me weekly to see how I was doing and convincing me that I would be bowling again no matter what the doctors said. I still can't believe that he’s gone. I know he's probably sitting with my wife, looking down on me. Damn boy, I'm going to miss you more than I can ever say. Love ya brother, hold a table for me and a shot of fireball waiting for me. Tomorrow is never guaranteed.

My memory of John will always be his unselfish demeanor, he put everyone else's happiness 1st priority. John just loved family and always wanted everyone to get together and enjoy each other's company. He is definitely one of the nicest , friendliest human beings I know. If you needed anything John would do anything he could to help you out. The world needs more John Grego's in it. It already feels more empty without him here, but John would tell you not to mourn for him, but to love everyone you know a little more and family is everything. Rest in peace my brother.
