Nancy retired as Branch Manager of Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union before relocating to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and dedicated caregiver to her husband following his diagnosis with multiple sclerosis. Above all, Nancy was a loving mother and grandmother, finding her greatest joy in putting her family’s happiness before anything else.
Nancy's favorite topics of conversation were her grandchildren and food. She could always be counted on to share a recipe or offer tips and tricks for preparing a meal. “What’s for dinner?” was a question she never failed to ask—and she was always ready with suggestions on how she’d make it easier for you. Known for her sharp wit and infectious sense of humor, Nancy had a gift for making people laugh. Even those who met her only once would remember her as a truly unforgettable character.
She is survived by her daughter, Kaylee (Justin) Horvat; her beloved grandchildren, Lucy and Trudy; her sister, Marsha Muegge; and her brother, Robert Muegge Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin John Petsch, and her son, Joel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Nancy's memory to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Division of Pediatric Rheumatology, or to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
