This is way late and I'm sorry for that as I just found out, but I wanted to write that I met Scott at Compuware in 2004. He sat right next to me and he was the nicest and funniest person in that building - it was a big building. My sincere condolences to the Hess family, I'll miss him too.

Good bye Scott, you were a great boss at Compuware, even though you were young enough to be my son. You will be sorely missed, enjoy heaven, you deserved it!

So sorry to learn of Scott's passing.  I'm a former coworker of his and only have fond memories of him at work.  He was always friendly,  kind and funny. My condolences to his family.  I know he loved his kids immensely.

This is such sad news. Scott was a great guy all  our school years and by reading his friends and family comments I see he continued his positive and loving ways.  He had such a friendly, warming  smile.  I pray God will bring peace and comfort for all those lives he touched.

I am so saddened to hear of Scott's passing. During my school age years, I remember him as such a nice friend and always smiling. I have a picture of he and I at a dance at the community center when we were young and carefree. I was glad to have reconnected with him a few years ago  Blessings of strength during the difficult days ahead. 

Recently I got the opportunity to work with Scott, we both worked "together" remotely and we had time to get to know each other personally. He provided me much guidance and help professionally. The way he showed positive spirit despite the personal challenges that he was going though was inspiring. I am so sorry for your loss, your family will continue to be in my thoughts.

He would say to you right now:  "Remember the great times we've had and smile".  
I am so fortunate to have a lifetime of memories with Scott.  From the earliest years snorkeling all day long and catching turtles from the paddleboat; canoeing uncharted wilderness between Oxbow and Cedar Island; whiffle ball World Series in the street, a stout music collection.  After approximately 17,912 reps of Synchronicity it took me 10 years to hear it again.  Admiring Jay’s latest custom build and endearing spats with Katie.  Yummy dinners downstairs before begging Mom to stay up longer.  Hot dusty fields with coach Tom.  Split finger fastballs, ice on the elbow, cold shower, oil in the mitt.  Hours of perfect Donald Duck talk – how is that possible?  Beginning French.  Oakland U and MSU; so many memories (that Scott would kill me if I share).  Romances and breakups.  A first date to the Sleeping Bear sand dunes in the back of my trusted Ford Ranger with exceptional ramen noodles and very poor brakes.  The house at Brendle and arrival of the little ones.  A new roof on this house?  Stories of Abominable snowmen and wild adventures.  Through all the years we could catch up like we talked yesterday.  Many hour conversations while I stared up at the stars from my cabin in CA so far away.   Attempts to decipher lengthy text messages written all in French.  Flying down to our wedding and contributing to our celebration with enchanting conversation, making new close friends within days.   I will cherish the amazing fun we had last year for 2 weeks, fishing, photographing, feasting, relaxing and laughing all the while learning Peruvian Spanish.  I am blessed with these memories and have experienced the love he has for his family and adoration for his children.   There is no doubt where Scott is now and trust-assured he is smiling down upon you.

We worked with Scott at Micro Focus for a number of years and he very quickly became a friend rather than a colleague. The picture was taken during our visit to see Scott in May last year after our ritual of giving each other new headgear - Scott seemed to appreciate wearing caps with English soccer teams’ logos on for some reason!

We remember when the family would visit and Scott would lay on the floor and the kids would lay in his arms and roll all over him. Also when they were in the pool and Scott would through them in the air and they would squeal “do it again”. Scott did love his kids. Richard and Ginny Baldwin

I have not seen Scott in years . I used to play baseball with him as a kid , his dad was the manager. My dad was a coach both our names are David Brandt. I did run into him hear and there , I knew he was a painter like me . 

Best Friends for so many years.  They had so many adventures together.  And traded the orange pop and sprite for more adult beverages.  Love you Scott.  From Mom #2 as he called me.  Carolyn Freytag.
