Violet King “Dollie”, age 85, of Highland; passed away on January 3, 2011. Dollie was a long time member of Highland Congregational Church. She worked for Huron Valley School District as a bus driver and retired from Kroger in Milford. Her hobbies were many; however, camping and being outdoors with family was a true enjoyment. Beloved wife to both the late Homer West and Lowell King; dear mother of Joan (Ronald) Hardy, Julie (Keith) Thiel, Joy Bray and her husband Gerald Bray; proud grandmother of Ronald (Carolyn) Hardy, Jr., Debra (Curtis) Brendel, Keith (Megan) Thiel, Jr., Kelly (Matthew) Chynoweth, Gerald Bray, Jr., Joseph Bray, Jamie Bray; great-grandmother of Kyle, Chelsea, Allison, Clinton, Jarren, Ila May, Owen, Sydney; sister of Edward Best. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, January 6, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Rd., Highland. Visitation hours will be Tuesday 5-8 p.m., Wednesday 2-8 p.m., as well as Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Highland. Memorial donation in Dollie’s name to Highland Congregational Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
