Linda D. Barnett

Linda Diane Thurman Barnett passed on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at her home on Signal Linda was born on December 29, 1951, in Hamilton County, TN. She was a graduate of Red Bank High School and Highland Beauty Academy. She operated Linda's Beauty Salon for 40 years and also retired from Signal Mountain Post Office, where she was a rural carrier.

Other activities and accomplishments include being able to drive a full-size school bus (pregnant no less), first female Little League Baseball coach on Signal Mountain (1978), first female Little League Baseball coach to WIN the championship (also 1978), Girl Scout Leader, and cheer/softball/baseball/wrestling mom. She enjoyed the Ladies Lunch Bunch on Signal. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother most!

Linda was preceded in death by our son, Joseph Mark Barnett, and parents, William Ray Thurman and Mildred Griffith.

Survivors include husband Douglas Barnett, son Rodney Barnett (Marcy), daughter Summer Stewart (Aaron), grandson Matthew Barnett (Bryn), granddaughter Lucy Anne Stewart, great-grands Beau Ellis Barnett and Carter Branch.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9 from 11-2 PM at Hamilton Funeral home with graveside service to follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park, 501 Memorial Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37415 at 2:30 PM with Brother Larry Miller officiating.
