Born and raised in Holland/Zeeland area. Cal was a quiet man with a kind and gentle heart. He carried himself with integrity and humility, guided by his faith in God and a deep sense of gratitude for life’s blessings, cherishing simple moments and meaningful connections. His calm presence and steadfast support made him a rock to his family and friends.
Cal found joy in the outdoors - fishing, hunting, taking trail walks in the woods, and simply being outside surrounded by nature. These moments brought him peace and reflected his appreciation for the quiet beauty of God’s creation.
Cal’s generosity and thoughtfulness were evident to everyone who knew him. He offered kind words when they were needed, but more often, simply offered his steady, reassuring presence. He had a gentle way of making people feel seen and understood, and his quiet strength inspired those around him.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vivian Branderhorst; his children, Valerie (Will) Mangual and Kirk Branderhorst; and his granddaughter, Jaedyn Branderhorst-Sauceda. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim (Wanda) Branderhorst, Arlan (Nancee) Branderhorst, and Chuck (Tracy) Branderhorst; sisters-in-law, Deloris Nienhuis and Sylvia Diepenhorst.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Gennevieve Branderhorst, and his daughter, Amanda Branderhorst.
