Dorothy was born in Zeeland, MI July 22, 1936 to Albert and Katie (VanHarn) Hofman. She worked as a teacher her entire life, educating children at Rose Park Christian School and Sylvan Christian throughout her career. Dorothy was a member of LaGrave Ave CRC in Grand Rapids and volunteered for the Holland Home and LaGrave Ave. Church, mentoring for Kid’s Hope and visiting home bound members.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Dorothy is survived by her brothers Dale (Nancy) Hofman, and John (Marcia) Hofman; cousins Lois (Ed) Hoeksema and Wendell (Karen) Hofman; 7 nieces and nephews; many great nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A memorial celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on July 30, 2025, 2:30pm, at LaGrave Ave CRC, 107 LaGrave Ave., Grand Rapids, 49503. A fellowship time and light reception will follow the service at church.
Burial took place in Zeeland Cemetery.
