

Elsie was an active life-long member of Borculo Christian Reformed Church where she enjoyed the Ladies Aid Society and quilting for missions. She also delighted in quilting with her family, going on camping trips, traveling, baking special treats, volunteering, and spending time with her loved ones. Her life has been a witness to her faith, her strength, and her dedication.
She will be lovingly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: Joyce Meyers of Grand Rapids, (Amy and Rick Emshwiller; Mia and Ralph Walker); Ken and Joan Essenburg of Holland (Chris Essenburg; Kevin and Sarah Essenburg, Andrea, Lauren, Isabella); Larry and Wilma Essenburg of London, Ontario (Michelle and Jared Jones, Kaleb, Paisley, Maddon; Nicole and Bill Dixon, Joshua); Myra and Mike DeLoof of Kalamazoo (Dana and Jason Zeinstra, Aidan, Noah, Emma; Kelly and Jesse Foppema, Jack, Addison, Mikaela; Katelyn and Mike Aggen, Ellie, Ava); and Kristi and Tom McMahon of Mercer, Pennsylvania (Tim, Nathan, Jeffrey McMahon).
Also surviving are her sister Grethel Ten Harmsel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan Gebben, Fannie Essenburg, Margaret Kiekover, Elsie and Paul Kragt, Simon and Esther Essenburg, Gary and Brenda Essenburg, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, two infant daughters, and a sister, Genevieve Gebben.
A memorial service will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Borculo Christian Reformed Church, 6464 96th Ave., Borculo with Rev. Stephen Terpstra and Rev. Allen Petroelje officiating, preceded by a private committal service at Borculo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8:00pm, Wednesday, November 19, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland.
