
Howard was a member of North Holland Reformed Church, where he served as deacon and elder for many years. He was also a volunteer at Evergreen Commons. Howard was a veteran, serving in the Army during WWII. He worked for many years at, and then retired from, Pfizer-Parke Davis. After retiring, Howard became an avid woodworking craftsman. He enjoyed traveling around the United States and loved fishing in Michigan’s lakes. And he especially loved spending time with his 17 beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Richard VandeVusse; brothers, sisters, and in-laws, Glenn and Clara Dalman, Preston Dalman, Dewey Knoll, Bernice and Jay Kamphuis, Willis and Alice Kamphuis.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen; children, Beverly VandeVusse, Craig and Nancy Dalman, Debra and Rickey Morley; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, sisters and in-laws, Cylinda Dalman, Cynthia and Ray Rouwhorst, Alaine Knoll, Zella and LaVern VandenBrink, Evonne and Vern Baumann, Coral and Lester Swieringa; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, September 28, 2015, at North Holland Reformed Church, 12050 New Holland Road, in Holland, with a reception to follow. Reverend Steven DeVries will officiate. Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm, Monday, September 28, 2015, at North Holland Reformed Church.
