Each day with the rising sun, Karen would greet the day with a smile on her face. With a heart of gold, Karen was always putting others before herself, lending a hand to anyone in need, selflessly giving her time, energy, and finances. She found joy in volunteering her time at Bibles for Mexico and was a frequent supporter of her local library, visiting weekly for new books to devour (especially spy thrillers). She even would bring books to her parents in the winter months so that they didn’t have to go out into the blistery weather. A skilled bargain hunter Karen was always excited to share her latest treasures. There was no treasure greater however than her family – Karen would do anything for them, and cherished each moment spent with them. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend, we will forever keep her in our hearts.
Karen was preceded in death by her son Peter Michael Shea, cousin Bill VanDyke, aunt Ruth Abbott, and grandparents George and Dorothy Anderson.
Karen is survived by her husband of 34 years Timothy; Children: Amanda (Levi) Johnston, Michelle (Brent) Shanty, Ashley Shea; Grandchildren: Beckett, Iris, and Abby; Parents: Pete and Barb Eaton.
A Celebration to honor Karen’s life will be on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 1:00pm at Lakeshore Memorial Services. The family will greet visitors starting at 11:00am. Masks are required for the service and visitation. Please consider Bibles for Mexico or Hospice of Holland for memorial donations.
