Melvin James Koster, Mel, 88 from Zeeland, MI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 11, 2024. He was born in Holland, MI on April 25, 1936. He was a devoted Christian who woke up every day singing hymns. He loved the Lord. He was also a man of many talents from carpentry to working on cars. He built countless pieces of beautifully crafted furniture that are cherished by so many. He was married to his beautiful wife, Ardy, for over 67 years. They did everything together from riding motorcycles to traveling across the United States. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and was so beloved.
He is survived by his wife Ardy, children Wayne (Patti) Koster, Kim (Richard) Baker, & Sherri (Leon) Prince; grandchildren, Matt (Heidi) Prince, Kris (Margaretta) Koster, Jenn (Trent) Leggett, Eric (Alyssa) Koster, Kyle Baker, Katie Baker, Alyssa Prince, & Tayven Prince; great-grandchildren Keelie & Emmaline Prince, Sam & Anne Koster. Visitation will be held at Community Reformed Church in Zeeland, MI on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 10am followed by his Celebration of Life at 11am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Holland.
