Way was born in Canton, North Carolina to Casty and Molly (Cogburn) Henson. He was the 7th of 11 children and the last surviving sibling. A veteran of the United States Army, Way served his country during World War II. He worked for General Motors, retiring after 28 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; and all 10 siblings.
He is survived by his children: Wayne and Ellen Henson of Holland, Bill and Pat Henson of Holland, Nancy and Kirk Steketee of West Olive, David and Nicole Henson of Holland, Sheila and John Bradfield of Holland; 7 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; Many extended family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be 6-8:00pm Monday, October 10, 2016, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, in Holland.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
