

Alan Sherr was born June 7, 1928 in Brooklyn New York to George Sherr and Helen Ginzig. He moved to Miami Beach in his teens where he was a star athlete at Miami Beach high school. At just 18 he joined the Navy as a culinary specialist where he picked up the game of basketball while stationed in San Diego playing for the local navy basketball team. He went on to attend George Washington University where he graduated with honors in political science and thrived as a star athlete on the basketball team where he inherited the nickname the Flea for his smaller and agile physique which made him a great ball player. Alan went on to obtain his JD from the University of Miami where he was the student editor in chief of the Law Review. Alan graduated with honors despite working the night shift as a Miami Beach police officer and outstanding detective while attending school in the day. He went on to become a successful attorney for many famous athletes, movie stars and other clients. Alan was also a successful business man and owner and founder of the Flick Coffee House in Coral Gables, Florida, as well as many other successful business ventures. He never considered himself retired and would always be there for anyone who needed sound legal advice. He was a caring, loving father and always had many interesting stores and adventures of his wonderful life to share with friends and family. Alan passed away peacefully in his home on August 26, 2014. He is survived by his four sons Gary Peck, Mark Sherr, Geoffrey Sherr and Adam Sherr, his sister Gerry Sherr, sister-in-law Kay Skinner, and his nephew Gene Zaglan. He is also survived by two grand children Michael and Tracy Sherr whom he adored. A quiet and personal family gathering was held.
