

Amanda Gonzalez Sanchez, 102, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL entered into eternal life on May 19, 2018. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Amanda, whose biological father died before her birth, was the only daughter of Margarita García, and was legally adopted by Margarita's sister, Rosario, aka. Saro, and her spouse, Miguel Gonzalez. Amanda was the oldest of their three daughters. She is survived by her children, Silmar Sanchez and Mike Sanchez and his wife Barbara; her sister, Celeste Dominguez; grandchildren, Jon-Michael Sanchez and his wife Olivia; Matthew Sanchez and his wife Danielle; her great-grandchildren: 4-month-old James Carlisle Sanchez and Elizabeth Nicole Sanchez, due in September. Also left to cherish her memory are nephew and nieces, Freddie Rodriguez, Mirelsa Taboa, and Velda Modestti; Amanda was preceded in death by her husband, Juan; granddaughter, Nicole "Nikki" Brosch; and youngest sister, Velda Gonzalez de Modestti.
Amanda was a very determined individual. She had a "bigger-than-life" kind of personality, and great tenacity in her approach to any of life's challenges. Her epitaph could be expressed as: "I Did it My Way." She was a devoted wife, an involved and protective mother, and a loving and supportive grandmother, who will be greatly and forever remembered with love and appreciation for all that she gave to her family and friends.
