Anita was the epitome of the perfect wife, mother, grandmother and finally great grandmother. Born in Brooklyn New York, November 6th, 1931 to Angela and Gennarino Sciarrillo. Being born at the height of the depression she encountered the first of many challenges in her life. While she was at Lafayette high school she met her future husband Peter Isaia. While he was still in the Navy during the Korean war they became engaged and married April 1952. During the first year and a half they were only together 6 weeks while he was overseas. Finally in 1953 they spent his last year in the Navy in California. They returned to Brooklyn New York where her first child Mark was born soon followed by a second son Michael. 1958 they made the bold move to move down to Miami followed by their third child, finally a daughter Lucia. Anita soon settled in in being the perfect Mom with schools, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts. She was relentless in monitoring their schoolwork making sure all three children excelled both in elementary and high school. She was more than the protective Mother as she also was the guiding light and motivation for her three children to understand the importance of God, family and their education. Once her three children were in high school she started working as the executive secretary to the treasure at the University of Miami where she worked many years. This proved to be helpful with schooling for her daughter while she pursued her nursing degree. Once her three children had graduated college and progressed in their careers, she went to work for Eastern Airlines in flight operations for the last ten years of Eastern’s existence. While she was there she embraced the next stage of being the doting grandmother to her 5 grandchildren. She embraced that role for many years watching them grow and excel in their successful careers and most recently they granted her status as great grandmother. She spent her last months reveling in her great grandmother status until the end.
She is survived by her three children Mark Isaia (Marcy), Michael Isaia, Lucia Isaia Hotchkiss (Michael) 5 grandchildren, Janelle (Alex Kelso), Stephanie ( Oliver Cohen), Alexander, Tara (Matthew Ireland) and Kelsey, along with many nephews and nieces.
