Mr. Cooke was born in Cauldwell, Hanover, Jamaica to John Alphanso and Viola Louise Cooke on October 14, 1942.
He attended Savana-La-Mar Infant and Elementary School, then Mannings High School before a transfer to Cornwall College in Montego Bay. His continued education was in Washington D.C. where he graduated from Howard University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.
He married Ouida Helena Cooke on September 2, 1967 in Jamaica, Queens, New York.
Mr. Cooke worked as a Bank Executive for over three decades both in Jamaica and on Long Island in New York before retiring, after which he offered Financial Consultation through his company Bert Cooke & Associates in both countries. He subsequently resided in Florida.
Bertram, Sr. is survived by his sons Bertram, Jr., Michael, and Robert; siblings John, Dorothy, Donald, and Cynthia “Cherry”; and granddaughter, Marley.
