Betty Berry

Betty Jean Byrom Berry, beloved wife and mother, passed away on February 9th, 2023 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Betty was born in San Antonio, Texas, on August 22, 1930. She graduated from Luther Burbank High School in 1948. In 1950 Betty met Clifford Livingston Berry on a blind date. They fell in love and were married in 1951 and moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They were married for over 70 years.

Betty worked for Broward Bank for five years until starting a family. While rearing six children she assisted her husband in managing their many family businesses including Port Everglades Overnight Trailer Park and Poplar Lodge Supper Club. Betty was a devout member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir for over 40 years. Betty volunteered in many school, church and community activities and served as president of Broward General Hospital Auxiliary. 

Betty is survived by her husband, Clifford, her children Cynthia Berry, Sandra Berry, Candace (Donald) Church, Barbara Berry, Kimberlee (Joseph) Sawyer, and Clifford L. Berry II, along with 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, on Friday, February 17th, at 3 p.m., with a reception to follow.
