Bhagan Soogrim passed away in Coral Springs, Florida on Sunday, December 25, 2022, he was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was born in Trinidad and Tobago on June, 8th 1949 in Claxton Bay to his father Soogrim Seedarsan and mother Jugree Nagassar. He was one of 9 siblings, sisters Dulcie (deceased), Golly, Indra, Kulsum (deceased), Cashello, brothers Ragbir, Bissoon and Joey (deceased). Bhagan and Deomati married on December, 21st 1975 and soon after welcomed their first child, Tara. With great happiness the family grew to four with the births of Veena, Asha and Shyam. Through the years, Bhagan’s work took him out of Trinidad to live and work in Venezuela and eventually the United States. He was a great welder, businessman, and had an affinity for complicated construction work relating to docks, seawalls and things that were necessary for a great foundation. That affinity for a great foundation had shaped his entire life as we all can attest to.
His dedication and faith to God was his final testament to the man he was. A devotee of Krishna and loyal and dedicated Vaishnava. He supported his faith with his time and resources. He fulfilled one of the greatest aspirations for any Vaishnava when he visited Vrindavan with his wife, daughter and his grandson Jonathan. He was the grandfather of 6, Julianna, Jonathan, Jillian, Anjolee, Hailee, Everlee and great grandfather of 1 girl Zendaya. He was also a father-in-law to Jonathan (deceased), Tony(deceased) and Neil. Being a grandpa came naturally to him. His family loved his humor, horseplay, tall tales, his wisdom and life lessons. We plan to continue his legacy and make his dreams come true.
Please join his family in saying goodbye.
