Caroline Jeanette Mishkin

Caroline Jeanette Mishkin, 81, of Hollywood, Fl passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017. Caroline was born on June 13, 1936 in Sussex, NJ. She was raised in Franklin, NJ and participated in the Franklin High School Band as head majorette earning scholarship to Texas Western College in 1954. Caroline spent her early adult life raising her family in Roxbury and Jefferson Townships in New Jersey while also working with area children in marching band activities with focus on athletic twirling and helping them win numerous awards. Caroline moved to San Antonio, Texas in the early 1980's where she worked for VNU communications. Upon retirement Caroline moved to Hollywood, Florida to be closer to family. In her time Caroline loved upbeat music, especially the song "Sweet Caroline", reading and most of all people. She was a very outgoing person and was known for her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. Even as illness set in Caroline still looked forward to every day and was very proud of her work and her family.

Caroline is survived by her beloved children, Harvey Mishkin (partner Christianne Cranage) and Linda Maltais (Bill Turner); her caregiver Carole Diejuste; her grandchildren Dana Gayoso and husband Luis, Steven Maltais, Cara Farnell, Shaina and Juliana Mishkin, great children Anthony Maltais and Alexandra Gayoso, former husband Ronald Mishkin, brother in-law Frank Fasolo and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Julia Chelbus, father, Anthony Chelbus, sisters, Sophia Jones and Stephanie Fasolo, brother, Anthony Chelbus (Sonny) and his wife Dorothy, Charles Oberlander, and daughter in-law Evelyn Mishkin.

A Celebration of Caroline's life will be held from 11am to 2pm with service following on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Fl (954) 239-7374.
