She was born in Miami, Florida, on October 6, 1941, to Nellie and Andrew Hoffman. Cathy spent most of her years in Miami and moved to Cooper City in 1994. Throughout her life, she worked for Miami-Dade County Public Schools and The Archdiocese of Miami.
When Cathy was not working, she enjoyed traveling. As much as she loved going to new places, Disney World was ultimately her go-to spot. She also enjoyed spending her days going to movies, reading, and feeding the neighborhood wildlife.
She will be missed and is survived by Luis R. Rivera, Daughters: LeeAnn Schmidt-Sheaffer/Tammy and Terri Ann Chandres/Richard. Grandchildren: Dylan and Ethan Chandres, great-grandchild: Aiden Schmidt and Sisters: Peggy Bacon and Rose Ann Bower.
Cathy was preceded in death by her loving grandson SSG. Jonathan P. Schmidt, who she lost in 2012 in Afghanistan, sister Helen Moyers, and brother Andrew Hoffman.
