

Chuck attended Albert Einstein High School in Wheaton, MD. He received his undergraduate degree in Education from Florida Technical Institute in 1977 and his Masters of Education from Central Florida University in 1980.
Chuck was an elementary teacher in the Orlando public school system before moving to the Northern Virginia area in 1984 where he began a highly successful career in association management. Chuck held professional designations of Certified Association Executive (CEA) and Realtor Association Certified Executive (RCE). He was an accomplished and recognized leader having received the distinguished Bud Smith Leadership Society award in association management. Chuck was the Executive Director of the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors and of multiple Washington regional Realtor associations. Chuck was most noted for his expertise in the area of education and served on the Board of Governors of the Association Institute.
Chuck volunteered his time to many social causes, most notably as a member of the Executive Committee and as the Executive Director of Aids Walk Washington in 1995.
Chuck was an active member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Washington DC and upon retiring in 2007 moved to Ft. Lauderdale. He was a parishioner and lay leader at All Saints Episcopal Church where he was very active in the church's ministries, having played a key role in the development of the children's education programs at the El Centro, All Saints Latino outreach program. He served on the vestry from 2010 to 2013 when he was Sr. Warden; and was currently a Verger, Eucharistic Minister, the chair of the HR committee and the Coordinator of the office volunteers.
Chuck is survived by his partner of 40 years, David Pearce; his mother, Phyllis Ebert; sister, Susan Johnson (Rick); niece, Stephanie Chambrovich (Hugh); nephew, Eric Johnson; great-niece, Abigail and great-nephew, William. He was preceded in death by his father, William.
A Funeral Holy Eucharist will be on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 4:00 pm at All Saints with inurnment in the All Saints' Columbarium.
There will be a memorial service in Washington DC on Saturday, February 25th for friends and family in the Washington area. The place and time are yet to be determined. An announcement will be made once these details are confirmed.
