Claire was born in Honesdale, Pennsylvania on July 9, 1923, daughter of William and Marcella (Duff) Murtha. Upon retirement in 1983, Claire and Albert moved from Bloomfield, NJ to Plantation, FL. Claire was a communicant of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church for many years.
Survivors include her children, Patrick (Joyce) Lewis, Maureen Lewis, Arthur (Megan) Lewis, Marcella (Joseph) Iglar and Albert Edward Lewis and twelve grandchildren. Claire was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Joseph Lewis in 1993 and two sons, Raymond and William Lewis.
Visitation on Thursday, March 15th from 5:00 ~ 8:00 P.M. at Fred Hunters Funeral Home, 2401 South University Drive in Davie. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 16th at 10:00 at St. David Catholic Church, 3900 South University Drive, Davie, Florida 33328. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. There will be a private burial service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover New Jersey at a later date.
