

Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Esther Van Vokum, Donald moved to South Florida where he attended Hallandale High School. He married the love of his life, Cherylene Deeser, on June 2, 1978, in Fort Lauderdale. Donald worked for many years as an air conditioning technician with Sheridan & Callaway Air Conditioning.
Known for his kind heart and generous spirit, Donald was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His sense of humor and love for family and friends made him a joy to be around, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Donald is survived by his devoted wife, Cherylene Heath; daughters Sherry Deeser (Jerry Burton) and Lynda Deeser Points (Vincent Points); grandchildren Crystal Thompson (Nathan Thompson III) and Robert Joseph Points (Janelle Jelonek); and great-grandchildren Douglas, Robert Joseph Jr. (“RJ”), Gia (“Gi Gi”), Nataylia, and Bailee. He also leaves behind many other loving family members and cherished friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, located at 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida. Family-only viewing will begin at 4:30 p.m.. Following the gathering, family and friends are invited to continue sharing memories at 4114 North Circle Drive, Hollywood, FL 33021.
Funeral services and burial will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., also at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home.
