Edgar Cavalcante Cerqueira

Born in 1986 in Braslia and raised in So Paulo, Edgar Cavalcante Cerqueira of 28 years ,lived in Miami since 2007 after 1 year living in New Zealand. He graduated as an IT major at Florida International University in December 2011, and began his career at Ultimate Software,Weston.

On July 4th, 2015, Independence Day, sudden illness overcame Edgar while driving. A fatal car crash ensued and he passed away.

Edgar was an only child and has always been very enlightened, intelligent, elegant and had a smile that captivated everyone. He used to provide volunteer services next to his co-workers. Everyone used to fall in love with his playful and sweet character. Fan of Flamengo and very attached to his mother and family. Edgar was very proud of his friends and of his achievements, which were not few, and kept demonstrating to him that the sky is not the limit. He loved to plan for his future, envisioning his life a few years from now. Many were his dreams, and they all seemed reachable, they all seemed to be at the touch of his fingertips.

Now all that is left is the memory of his face with an unforgettable smile that seemed miracle rejoicing to all, and the twinkle of an eye of someone who knew what he wanted.

The world caught us all by surprise. Your passing away, so early, so premature, was one of these unpredictable surprises where destiny leaves us all helpless and lost.

You left an immense emptiness in our lives and in our hearts. After you left, our lives will never be the same.

However, our dear Ed, you left many lessons for us to be better human beings:

Lessons taught to us all by your acts of gentleness, kindness and love.

Lessons taught by your courage and determination.

Lessons taught by your great character.

Your legacy will always pulse in our veins, through our hearts, permeating into our very souls.
